Agreement
By creating an account, listing a vehicle, or completing a rental booking on DriveNow, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to any additional rules shown on the specific listing or at checkout.
1

Platform & marketplace

  • DriveNow is an online marketplace that connects vehicle owners (“vendors”) with people who want to rent a vehicle (“renters”).
  • DriveNow does not own, insure, or operate the vehicles listed. Each rental is an agreement between the renter and the vendor, subject to the listing details and these terms.
  • We provide tools for discovery, booking, payments where applicable, and communication. Our fees or commissions, if any, are shown before you confirm a booking.
2

Eligibility, licence & verification

  • You must be at least the minimum age shown on the listing (typically 21, or as required by law and the vendor). You must hold a valid driving licence recognised in the jurisdiction where the vehicle is used.
  • Renters and vendors must provide accurate identity and contact information and complete any KYC or document checks we or the vendor require.
  • We may refuse service, suspend accounts, or cancel bookings if verification fails or information is misleading.
3

Bookings, pricing & payments

  • Rates (e.g. per hour or per day), security deposits, taxes, and add-ons are displayed on the listing and at checkout. By confirming a booking you agree to pay the amounts shown.
  • Payment timing and methods (e.g. online, advance, balance on pickup) follow what is stated for that booking and vendor policy.
  • Cancellation and refund rules depend on the listing, the vendor’s stated policy, and the time of cancellation. Any platform processing follows the same rules shown at booking.
4

Pickup, return & vehicle condition

  • At pickup and return, inspect the vehicle with the vendor (or their representative). Note existing damage, odometer reading, and fuel level on the checklist or in-app flow if provided.
  • Return the vehicle in the same general condition as received, subject to fair wear and tear, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Report accidents, theft, or mechanical issues immediately to the vendor and, where required, to authorities and insurers.
5

Insurance, liability & damage

  • Insurance coverage (third-party, comprehensive, or none) depends on the vendor, local law, and what is disclosed on the listing. Renters are responsible for understanding coverage before driving.
  • Renters are generally responsible for loss or damage arising during the rental period while the vehicle is in their care, except where covered by applicable insurance or mandatory law.
  • Excess / deductibles, claims procedures, and disputes over damage should follow the vendor’s policy and insurer requirements. DriveNow may facilitate communication but is not the insurer.
6

Fuel, mileage & fair use

  • Fuel policy (e.g. same-to-same, full-to-full) is set by the vendor and shown on the listing. Refuelling charges may apply if the vehicle is not returned as agreed.
  • Mileage limits or unlimited mileage, and any per-kilometre charges, are as stated on the listing. Odometer readings at start and end of the rental may be used to calculate extras.
  • The vehicle must be used only for lawful personal or agreed commercial use. Racing, off-roading where prohibited, towing beyond capacity, or illegal use is not allowed unless explicitly permitted.
7

Prohibited use

  • No subletting or re-renting the vehicle to others without the vendor’s consent.
  • No driving under the influence, without a valid licence, or outside permitted areas if restricted on the listing.
  • No transporting hazardous materials or using the vehicle in a way that voids insurance or breaks the law.
8

Late returns, no-shows & cancellations

  • Late returns may incur extra hourly or daily charges as per the listing or vendor policy.
  • No-shows or failure to collect the vehicle at the agreed time may result in forfeiture of deposit or fees as disclosed at booking.
  • Vendors must honour confirmed bookings unless a permitted cancellation applies; repeated cancellations may affect their account status.
9

Vendor obligations

  • Vehicles must be road legal, registered, and maintained to a safe standard. Listings must honestly describe condition, fees, and restrictions.
  • Vendors are responsible for complying with tax and regulatory obligations related to their rentals.
  • Misleading listings, unsafe vehicles, or abusive behaviour may lead to removal from the platform.
10

Privacy & data

  • We process personal data to run the marketplace: accounts, identity checks, bookings, payments, notifications, and safety. We do not sell your personal data.
  • For full privacy practices, retention, and your rights, refer to the privacy summary in your account settings or contact support.
11

Changes & contact

  • We may update these terms. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date. Continued use of DriveNow after changes means you accept the updated terms where the law allows.
  • Questions about these terms: contact us through the support channels listed on the website or app.
